HELP!

Imagine yourself trapped all alone. You are desperate to free yourself from your current reality but every attempt leaves you more and more exhausted, uncertain as to how much longer this can go on. Internally, and perhaps externally, you are screaming “HELP!” but to no avail. The scene described above highlights the frightening experience of Aron Ralston who wrote the book 127 Hours which was later adapted into the film 127 Hours starring James Franco. While this illustrates the terrifying experience of a rock climbing exercise gone horribly wrong, it also illustrates the inner dialogue of those stuck in sexual addiction.

The addiction cycle leaves the individual stuck in isolation desperately desiring change. The isolation has fed the habit and kept them chained to their loneliness with a hopeless prospect ahead of them. “Am I too far gone?” is a common theme of those stuck in addiction. In many ways, a metaphorical boulder has pinned them in place. Desperation, isolation, and hopelessness continue to grow over time. Who can help? If you’ve found yourself screaming for help with no one coming to your aid and with your options quickly dwindling, please know there are resources available. Reach out for help now!
